Here are just a few initiatives that we are working toward…

• Retrofitting guest rooms, and all public spaces, with CFL-Compact Fluorescent lighting.
• Installing new equipment in our laundry facilities, resulting in a more energy efficient operation, and conserving the use of water and detergents.
• Our “You Make the Choice” program- An in-room conservation effort, which allows guests staying for multiple nights, determine if they would like bed & bath linens changed daily.
• Occupancy sensors installed in our public spaces, resulting in lights be illuminated only when the space is occupied.
• Green Shuttle Practices-Coordinating the “carpooling” of guests requiring shuttle service, and reducing the number of runs made on a daily basis.
• Internal E-reporting to reduce paper waste.
• Use double sided printing when hard copies are necessary, and post them online whenever possible.
• Internal recycling program, and soon to implement one for in-house guests.

• We have an Energy Management System in effect which includes programmable thermostats in guestrooms and in-room motion sensors controlling the operation of the HVAC units.
• Offer a guestroom recycle program for newspaper, white paper, glass, aluminum, cardboard, and plastic.
• Provide recycling bins both in public areas, in the kitchen, and in the back office (including one at each desk) to make recycling as easy as possible.
